New page, so a quick overview of this quiz for new readers: it’s basically a “guess-which-film-this-is” sort of thing.
We play with three movies at the same time. Once you have correctly guessed which movie a screenshot is from you earn the right to post a new screenshot yourself.

Anyone can participate!
The full rules can be found in the first post, so if you’re serious please check them out. The list of which films have already been used can be found in the second, third and fourth post. You’re allowed to re-use films though, so don’t worry if your favorite already received a turn some time ago.

You can participate even if you’re not interested in posting screenshots (or don’t know how to).
In that case just yell FREE-FOR-ALL when you’ve won and that means someone else can (and will !) take your place.

These are currently the three films in play:

Movie #1. Visitor posted this shot from a genre classic which is not a Hollywood or Japanese production. Is it “The Seventh Seal”?

Movie #2. This one is mine and I posted two screenshots already. I’ll add a third:

Movie #3. Zombeaner posted these stills, which is not Breakin’ or Beverly Hills Cop, and that second still is the lead actor’s back. Kurt guessed Gleaming the Cube (that Christian Slater Skateboarding flick form the 80s) but Zombeaner hasn’t confirmed this yet.

I think I recognize the middle guy on Zombeaner’s from River’s Edge, and he was in a skateboard film with Josh Brolin called Thrashin’.  If Gleaming the Cube is wrong, that is my official guess.

I’m pretty sure you’re right on this one Guitar Brother!  I do believe it is THRASHIN’ !  There was and is still a surprising lack of skateboarding movies.

no, it’s not The Seventh Seal nor My Name Is Ivan. but very, very good guesses all. and it’s not a genre classic, but a classic that has links to genre films. here’s another still:

Thrashin’ it is!  That was Oscar nominee, Josh Brolin’s back in #2.

I’m guessing yours would be Daisy, Ard. Free-for-all if I’m right.

Let’s see… Chinese director and Korean all-star cast having fun together in Amsterdam? Check!
That is indeed “Daisy”, well spotted Eight Rooks.

Not the best of movies (although the director’s cut provides some camp value) but if you’re Dutch this is unbelievably entertaining!

And ladies and gentlemen, we now have a FREE-FOR-ALL so please make use of it…

Hooray!  It only took me half a year to get one correct, and it was a skateboarding film I’ve never seen.  I’m going to guess The VIrgin Spring for the B & W film, another film I’ve yet to see.  As for my pic:

you are right, GB! it is Bergman’s The Virgin Spring, which was unofficially remade as The Last House On The Left. it’s quite a shocking film for its time. and it has a lot of beautiful visuals, such as this:

4459333245_8c7d9078be.jpg

btw, GB maybe you should only guess movies which you’ve never seen from now on. smile

oh, and i can’t see your still. maybe you should make it img instead of a straight link.
