haha holy shit. Could be those shots aren’t memorable at all and more to do with the fact that I’ve seen it countless times. You owe it to yourself to see it because it’s big fun!

New page, new overview!

A short intro to this quiz for new readers: it’s basically a “guess-which-film-this-is” sort of thing.
We play with three movies at the same time. Once you have correctly guessed which movie a screenshot is from you earn the right to post a new screenshot yourself.

Anyone can participate!
The full rules can be found in the first post, so if you’re serious please check them out. The list of which films have already been used can be found in the second, third and fourth post. You’re allowed to re-use films though, so don’t worry if your favorite already received a turn some time ago.

You can participate even if you’re not interested in posting screenshots (or don’t know how to).
In that case just yell FREE-FOR-ALL when you’ve won and that means someone else can (and will !) take your place.

These are currently the three films in play:

Movie #1: i posted these shots which is not Code 46 or The Double Life Of Veronique. this “epic” movie was to be the director’s magnum opus but it ruined him instead. the movie has a lot to do with architecture. it is a French film:

Movie #2: Ard Vijn posted these and BtoFu guessed it to be Enter The Dragon. we’re stilll waiting for Ard to confirm the answer:

correct! it is indeed Jacques Tati’s Play Time (or Playtime). amazing film with lots of sight gags that you will still discover upon your 100th viewing.

i was going to post this giveaway still next, featuring Monsieur Hulot:

C’mon guys number 2 is clearly Enter the Dragon…the magnificence of Jim Kelly’s ‘fro can’t be mistaken. I actually came in here to check and see if some guy who was posting alot of screencaps on hpn was lifting them from here and asking for the answers haha.

Dude, I was getting worried!
I thought this would remain unguessed and I’d have to show Bruce Lee himself.

You are right of course and this is indeed “Enter the Dragon”.
Surprisingly this film has aged pretty well…

Here’s one from me. With this film I feel as though I run the risk of making every screencap nondescript however every shot in the movie tends to linger so…

Well, we differ on our feelings toward the movie (It’s too facile for Fincher in my book) but I will agree that the film is GORGEOUS to look at.

Here is my Still after guessing correctly (and yes, you should be able to recognize that actor) - sorry about the bad aspect ratio, the film should be in 1.85:1, ah well:

Kurt, I first thought it was Delroy Lindo with special effects make-up but I can’t find a feasible title.

(I even checked your next-door-neighbor’s website to see if I could locate the screenshot, but no luck there either… wink )

Still#2 (I like crazy scar make-up, for which this film probably is the record-holder!)
