To Guitarbrother: I just ordered the trilogy. Saw it for 12.99 EUR and couldn’t resist… so I’ll be watching it soon!
To everyone: new page, so it’s time for a new overview!
A short intro to this quiz for new readers: it’s basically a “guess-which-film-this-is” sort of thing.
We play with three movies at the same time. Once you have correctly guessed which movie a screenshot is from you earn the right to post a new screenshot yourself. Full rules can be found in the first post. The list of which films have already been used can be found in the second, third and fourth post. You’re allowed to re-use films though, so don’t worry if your favorite already received a turn some time ago.
You can participate even if you’re not interested in posting screenshots (or don’t know how to).
In that case just yell FREE-FOR-ALL when you’ve won and that means someone else can (and will!) take your place.
These are currently the three movies in play. Damn, they’re all mine! Here they are:
Movie #1: I guessed “Pusher III: I Am the Angel of Death” and post a new screenshot in return:
Movie #2: I posted one shot for this, and I’ve added another one:
Movie #3: I posted one shot for this (not “The New World”), and I’ve added another one:
Guitarbrother, “Horrors of Malformed Men” is the right answer!
Well done, my next screenshot would have involved fireworks and severed heads…
The one by Teruo Ishii? It doesn’t look like 40 years at all…
Well… it is!
The “newness” is partly due to the insane nature of the film, but also because of Synapse’s stellar transfer on DVD. Nice set of extras too.
Seriously, this disc is very much recommended for those interested in this weird mix of art and exploitation.
Heck, here are the other screenshots I sampled, so you can judge for yourself:
It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but it wouldn’t be Blow Up? Also, thanks for the screen shots. I got myself a few great desktops from it. Great great film.
