Just thought I’d put a place for the forumites to plug aspects of their life or other endeavours that may be of interest to the forum crowd.
For Example - Since December 2006, I’ve been doing a weekly ‘Cinecast’ Internet podcast on more mainstream cinema with Moviepatron.com of which the archive can be found here: http://www.moviepatron.com/page5.html
Also, in association with Movie Patron, Film Junk, The Documentary Blog and Mad About Movies, there has been an experiment started called “The Movie Club” which is a recording/round-table of various film folks who watch a movie, then gather to discuss (and record the session) - kinda like a book club. This is a monthly thing, possibly with different folks as it goes along. The first episode, where we do Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai and Little Children can be found here: http://www.filmjunk.com/2007/10/05/introducing-a-new-monthly-podcast-the-movie-club/
So anyone out there that does, hmmm, one sheet art, commercial work, DVD commentary or translation or what-not, please post updates/info here!

The round table podcast sounds exciting, Kurt. I’ll be tuning in!
On to the plugs, baby…
If there’s anyone in the Philadelphia area, a short film I wrote and co-produced, Red Harvest, will be screening as part of the Terror Film Festival at the Ethical Society Building in the Rittenhouse Square area downtown. I, along with our editor and fellow co-producer Alex Johnson, will be attending. The festival will run October 16th through the 21st; Red Harvest screens as part of a shorts block on Saturday, the 20th, at 5:00pm. I called Philly home for a number of years and am looking forward to spending some time out there (and smuggling some cases of Yuengling and Lion’s Head back to the midwest!). We’ll be in town for most of the fest’s run, so if anyone out there stops by to check out some films please say “hello!”

We’re also screening as part of Thriller! Chiller! in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which runs October 25th through the 27th. I’ll be in attendance there as well. We screen on Friday, October 26 as part of a shorts block starting at 1:00pm and on Saturday at 11:00am. Again, if you’re in the area come on out - they have a lot of interesting titles booked and a good number of fun repertory screenings scheduled.
Well I’m in the process of developing a blog site for my recent money wasting craze that is Mexican Lobby Cards. I’m currently trying to find the time to take photos, get them uploaded onto the site (which is proving a hassle on my home computer so I’m having to send stuff to work) and then hopefully attracting attention from fellow Mexican Lobby card collectors. There isn’t a great deal of information about these things on the web at the moment (especially the “cult” side of things) so I’m hoping this will spark some interest.

Suicide Surfer - a Documentary - DVD release May 1, 2008 only available at SuicideSurfer.com This documentary has not yet been seen by the public. There is however, two shorts clips of it at the site http://www.suicidesurfer.com and also at YouTube. The DVD will have much better video quality than the ruff clips on the site.
Surfer is like a Brother to me. To the best of my knowledge I have broken every rule for Documentary Film Making. I hope!
(Director SUICIDE SURFER)
Welcome to Surfer’s World. The good the bad and the ugly. The true story of an Original OC California Local. Please take a break and hang on tight. Try some Real Reality. Take a little time to get to know him, you won’t be sorry. Surfer reported being molested by his Priest to the Catholic Church a long time ago. They said his family would be excommunicated and that he would go to Hell if he spoke out or sought legal help. So he kept his mouth shut. That was the Policy of the Catholic Church set in place by Cardinal Alfred Ottaviani in 1962. This is Surfer’s life. He has a Right to have it told. You may see a mentally mangled man in this film, but remember he was an innocent child. Let’s think about that. What would it be like to be confused and violated for years by a Priest your family trusted, and respected? By 6th grade he was a full blown Alcoholic. Acting out wild behavior, bringing the wrath of his dad down upon him. Isolated, damaged and deformed. Preyed upon again by booze and drugs. Lost in a world of fear and isolation. So then it’s like… Oh check out Surfer he’s a Burnout! ha… ha… ha… He happens to be a Human Being and who walked alone in his own personal Hell. Then one day he saw the Priest that molested him on TV. He stood up. He told the truth. They paid him off. Nice huh? Sorry that isn’t how it works in Reality. His life just spun out of control even more. As I edit the video and audio files of him I am constantly blown away by what he had to say. http://www.suicidesurfer.com
