Some friends and I have been working on a blog/podcast for a few months now. We officially launched the site the beginning of August and also put the podcast portion up on iTunes. We’re a bunch of newbs when it comes to this whole thing and would definitely appreciate any and all feedback. My brother put a lot of time and effort into designing/organizing the website and would also like to know what you guys think.
We’re mostly trying to focus on reviews of movies, asian cinema, anime, and video games while throwing in our own personal brand of humor and attitude whenever we can. Our goal is to update the site multiple times during the week so there’s always something new. I think we’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time but we still have a long way to go.
If you’re willing to let us know what you think than please leave comments on the specific blogs, email us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or just reply to this thread.
Hard Cast Prime Episode 0 is a good intro podcast to start with since it basically introduces everyone and gives a taste of what we’re trying to do.
We’re running a contest for the Wolfenstein review. If your comment or email gets picked by the crew then you could win a free XBLA code for the original Wolfenstein 3D.
Winner will be announced on the next Hard Cast Prime.
Fun & Good!
Well laid out too, everything was easy to find. I wish I had the time to listen to all of the available podcasts, but alas…
Just out of curiosity which one’s have you had a chance to listen to and what did you think? We’re always trying to improve the show so any feedback would be helpful.
I listened to “The Dark Crystal” (one of my personal favs), and part of “Grave of the Fireflies”.
And I see you recently started to give movie ratings, so Crystal has them but Fireflies doesn’t.
Out of curiosity, what would you have given “Grave of the Fireflies”? I always hate passing any form of judgment on a film like that, because anything less than a 10/10 would make me feel a right proper bastard regardless of how I REALLY felt about the movie!
The film that will surely sink any nice evening you had… especially when you realize that is is mostly autobiographical and director Takahata really lost his little sister like that when she was under his care (the big difference is: he survived in real life).
Yeah, the review scores can be a little nerve wracking but I usually have my score worked out in my head before we even start recording. We actual always had the review scores it’s just the last few shows that I put the scores in the blog. The Grave of the Fireflies episode was one of our earlier shows so it has a lot of technical issues such as background noise and the editing wasn’t nearly as tight as the last twenty or so episodes.
