It’s quite simple actually, I post a picture from a movie and the person who comes with the right answer posts a new picture. However, there are a couple of rules:

- The person who posted the picture need to confirm a right answer before a new picture can be posted
- To keep the quiz going, the person who came with right answer has to post a new picture within 3 days of confirmation, or else anyone can post a new picture
- If possible the movie the picture is taken from should be available for most people
- If the correct answer hasn’t been posted within 2-3 days after the picture was posted you need to come with either a hint or post another screenshot from the same movie.
- The aspect ratio should not differ a lot from the original aspect ratio. Furthermore the pictures shouldn’t be manipulated.

The rules listed above can be adjusted if necessary.

Pictures can be uploaded at http://imageshack.us/
This is the list of all movies which have been used so far. I will try and keep this updated, and they are currently in order of being guessed right. Please note that there is NO rule against re-using a movie!

Also there has been a little change in the rules:

I’ve noticed some people would like to participate but refrain from doing so because winning would mean they’d have to post a screenshot.
I can understand posting screenshots may be somewhat of a hassle for people, especially if you don’t have a place on the internet to dump them on (or don’t know how to). Or maybe you’re just out of ideas on what to post.

For this reason I’d like to suggest that if you want to guess the picture but don’t want to post a screenshot, you just add

“Free-for-all”

after your guess.

This “free-for-all” signal will mean that (if the guess was right) whoever wants to post the next screenshot can do so.

Oh, and recently we went from 1 movie to 3 movies at the same time. So chances are you’ll know at least one of them!

Anyway, the list so far can be found in this post and the next. HAVE FUN!!!

Xavier Dolan’s eagerly anticipated third film, Laurence Anyways, has not even been released yet (it hits theaters on May 18th), but the brilliant young Canadian director has already announced his decision to adapt a play by Michel Marc Bouchard, Tom à la ferme. This marks the first time the director will adapt a script not of his own making. For now, Xavier Dolan’s own production company Mifilims will be handling the film. After a staging of the play in Montreal last year, the director asked Michel Marc Bouchard who would be making the film version, and when the playwright said he had no idea, Dolan replied that he would be doing it. Meanwhile, the two have already begun collaborating on the screenplay. The story revolves around a man named Tom, whose lover has just died. He meets the family of the deceased, to discover that the mother knew nothing of their relationship, or of her son’s sexual orientation. The brother of the deceased forces Tom to conceal the truth from the mother, threatening him with severe reprisals should he reveal the secret. Michel Marc Bouchard is an internationally recognized author and playwright who has written over twenty plays for the theater.

BEFORE “BAND OF BROTHERS” THERE WAS “TOUR OF DUTY”.

Official UK site: http://www.totalfanhub.com/tour-of-duty

The first television series to dramatise the events of the Vietnamese War, Tour Of Duty was a groundbreaking show that combined breathtaking action with thought-provoking drama while addressing the human elements of the conflict, from issues of racism and culture to suicide, drug abuse, the civilian casualties and the alienation of those soldiers who made it home alive.

Now, Tour Of Duty comes to UK DVD in its original broadcast format, for the first time ever in any worldwide territory, including the full original soundtrack of classic music tracks – including the main title track, The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” – that importantly set the tone and mood of the series and helped make it so popular with viewers.

Tour Of Duty – The Complete First Season features all 21 one-hour episodes of the show’s debut series collected over five discs.

The plotline revolves around a single platoon of young US soldiers during their one-year tour of combat duty in Vietnam during the late 1960s. Miles from home in the unfamiliar and hostile terrain of South-East Asia, this small band of infantrymen from diverse racial, cultural and philosophical backgrounds are ultimately forced to depend upon each other as brothers in arms fighting in a war that was to last almost 20 years.

Starring Terence Knox, Kevin Conroy, Stephen Caffrey, Joshua Maurer, Steve Akahoshi, Tony Becker, Eric Bruskotter, Stan Foster, Ramon Franco, and Miguel A. Nunez Jr. and featuring songs by the likes of Wilson Pickett, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Procol Harum, The Temptations, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beach Boys, Them, Stevie Wonder, Edwin Starr, Jimi Hendrix, Steppenwolf, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Merle Haggard, Percy Sledge and The Band, Tour Of Duty is a must-see series for fans of Oliver Stone’s “Platoon”, Stanley Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket” and Steven Spielberg’s World War II based TV series “Band Of Brothers” and “The Pacific”.

Tour Of Duty – The Complete First Season (cert. tbc) will be released on DVD (£49.99) by Fabulous Films on 7th November 2011.

Special Features include: all-new making of documentary filmed in Los Angeles in July 2011 and featuring cast and crew members; stills gallery; behind the scenes photos; cast biographies; crew biographies; character biographies; poster gallery; lobby card gallery.

Over a year ago Scott Weinberg posted first part of his “top 50” 80s sex comedies and there’s no sign of part two.
http://twitchfilm.com/news/2011/04/weinbergs-list-best-sex-comedy-1980s.php

Does anyone know if he’s planning to post second part? I discovered few films I’ve never heard about thanks to this list and would love to see more. Is he reading this forum? Or maybe there’s another way to contact him and ask about it?

Out to own on Double Play: January 30th, 2012

A revered revenge classic co-written by Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver) and acknowledged by Quentin Tarantino as one of his favourite movies when he named his video company after the 70s revenge classic - “Most movies let you down, but this is ass-kicking nirvana!”

Starring William Devane in a stoic performance as Major Charles Rane, a man who has been pushed beyond his limits during an eight year incarceration in the Hanoi Hilton. He returns to his Texas hometown with his friend Sergeant Vohden (Tommy Lee Jones), just a vague shadow of the man he used to be. Finding himself a local celebrity and awarded with a briefcase of silver dollars- one for every day he was a POW, he tries to adapt to civilian life with his wife (Linda Haynes), who is now engaged to another man, and his son, who doesn’t remember him.

But any chance at healing is destroyed when a gang of thugs show up at his house to steal the silver. Tragedy thus descends on Major Rane a second time, stealing whatever shred of humanity was in him, and sending him on a one-way mission: vengeance at any cost.
